O_o London Bridge. Lake Havasu, Laughlin

Posted by XwaynecoltX - May 27th, 2010

Ok so we (wife and i ) just got back from a small vacation 3 days to be exact, here is where we went to finally reach the "ORIGINAL" London Bridge in arizona

1st Day:
From so cali to Laughlin Navada, had fun the first day checked in, had some food, didnt have much winnings slot machines were iffy tonight, the craps tables were so so,

2nd Day: Took a 6 hour tour boat yes just like that show hehe, but anyways went down from laughlin along the colorodo river saw lots of great stuff, its a 2 hour ride to lake havasu (Arizona) and the london bridge, has 2 hour layover and then another 2 hours back up the river to the hotel in laughlin, picture below is of the London bridge as it is today in arizona, it was transfered there back in the 60's / 70's as far as i can remember, brought in block pieces, the bridge still has its numbers marked on them so they could put it back together.

It was a really fun boat ride along the river, something i suggest other take if ever in Laughlin, its only $66 per person down to the bridge, me and the wife had a blast seeing the bridge took tons of pics and, when we finnally got there had a few drinks in the london bridge pub right there at the bridge, figured we would do as london does and get wasted haha, no hard feelings there to any london people heh.

Day 3:
Well day 3 was even better as i just happened to win $400,00 from a slot machine that never happens right? hehe, i had only started with $10 on that machine so that made my day, won some here and there on the craps table, and enjoyed a fun 3 days in laughlin, Arizona, and lake havasu, oh yeah and that lil ol bridge too hehe.

Didn't the original London Bridge fall into the Thames in the 18th - 19th century because it was overload with the weight of a couple of dozen shops that they had built attached to the sides?

That i dont know all much about, all i know is that, the original sits in lake havasu ariz, it was pretty neat though.

By the looks of that picture the water is much cleaner then the Thames. So its probibly better there. The easiest way to kill yourself in London is drink a drop of Thames water, at must plaes it has a foamy head to rival a pint of Guinness :).

LOL yeah. The colorodo river is harmless

We had lots of fun ^_^

Don't have the squiggly line button, I'm on a laptop.

Makes you seem like a douche.

You had to be here for that story. Long ago

It's said that when London Bridge was bought the buyer actually thought he was recieving the more renowned Tower Bridge, because it was often mistaken by tourists to be London Bridge. It's not generally regarded as true but it's somewhat interesting.

I just find the idea of transporting a bridge across the Atlantic extremely odd.

Could you...You know, tell me it now?
